Take a Peak is an exploration of the architectural possibilities of paper through play. The fundamental quality of paper is its ability to receive marks as print and imprint. Here, the discussion is shifted from the Gutenberg Press to instructional marks made by tailors and cloth form-makers on flat patterns and paper drapes. Lines, dashes, points and arrows take on the role of description as well as instruction, giving paper a new life beyond the tailor’s flat pattern. From fashion, a more intimate engagement with paper characteristics foregrounds qualities of stiffness, textures, lightness and tones.
ANTALIS x META invites all to explore the beautiful surfaces of crumples and creases and the ideas behind the valleys and the peaks. Come, take a peak.
